Subdivisions included in the leaf vacuuming program receive two collections between November and January.

When do I rake my leaves?
Signs will be posted 5 - 7 days before the anticipated start of collection in a subdivision . Leaves must be raked out to the curb by the date posted on the sign.

What if the crews don't collect the leaves on the posted date?
The date on the sign is an anticipated start date. While equipment problems or inclement weather can delay the actual start date, crews make every effort to begin leaf removal on the posted date.

When are bagged leaves collected?
The Department of Environmental Resources collects bagged leaves once a week with regular trash collection between April 15th and January 15th of every year. To find out what day of the week bags are collected in your subdivision, call (301) 952-7630.
