What We Do

OCR partners with other County agencies to promote Prince George's County as a livable community with untapped potential - - offering a highly educated workforce, affordable housing, quality schools, and a profitable economic climate for investors and businesses, including a modern transportation network and world class research institutions.

The County Executive is committed to reaching out to all residents of Prince George's County to build a livable community with open doors of opportunity for all. The County Executive has charged OCR to serve as a link between the County Executive and the general public. The OCR staff works hard to enhance the County Executive's relations with a wide range of constituent groups--promoting mutual understanding, coordinating the County Executive's response to public policy issues, and helping citizens to access the County services.

OCR also operates the County Executive’s newest initiative: the OnTheGo Government Services Mobile Office. This converted bus delivers government services to residents in their neighborhoods, especially those areas where people can’t access county services by car or via the Internet.

OCR regularly communicates with elected officials, faith-based organizations, businesses, unions, civic associations and other community organizations in Prince George's County. OCR’s role is to monitor community issues, alert the County Executive, and serve as the liaison to such groups. The goal is to open lines of communications with individuals and organizations in an effort to encourage partnerships between these communities and the County Executive.
