Business Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. After 3:30 PM, the Office accepts paperwork only.

Beginning in May, the Register of Wills Office will be open the first Saturday of every month from 8:00 a.m to 12:00 p.m.
The Auditing Department will only accept appointments.

What is the Register of Wills Office?
The Office of Register of Wills is a public office established under the Constitution of the State of Maryland. The Constitution provides for a Register from each county and the City of Baltimore. Each Register is elected by qualified voters for a four-year term of office at the time of the gubernatorial election.
What does the Register of Wills do?
The Register of Wills is responsible for appointing personal representatives to administer the deceased's estates and for overseeing the proper and timely administration of these proceedings.
We also provide the following services to the community:
Safekeeping of Wills;
Assist and advise the public in the preparation of all required forms and maintain and preserve the permanent record of all proceedings;
Serve as the Clerk to the Orphans' Court;
Guardianships of minors and property;
Public computers available for genealogical research for decedents of Prince George's County and public viewing of estates.
