Public Affairs is committed to and responsible promoting quality community outreach and educational programs, that highlight Fire/Emergency Medical Services (EMS) for the citizens, visitors and residents of Prince George’s County. As the initial point of contact for public information about departmental programs, activities, and services, Public Affairs personnel visit schools, churches, apartment complexes, recreational facilities, and other community gatherings to provide visual aids, literature and presentations on fire prevention and life safety issues. Consistency in organizational goals and societal expectations, are collectively promoted through the exchange of information and development, influence, and execution of programs and events.
Goals:
- Commitment to provide quality fire prevention and life safety services and effectively assist in the dissemination of community related Departmental information
- Provide fire prevention and life safety education and outreach support services to the citizens, visitors, and residents of Prince George’s County
- Establish and foster collaborations and partnerships to facilitate the implementation of programs and activities
- Create awareness to internal and external customers on methods to improve the life safety and fire prevention methods for all citizens
- Promote fire and life safety, prevent fires and save lives through comprehensive planning and community involvement
- Promotion of existing and development of new programs to meet the needs of our communities
